Regulatory Compliance Senior Specialist
The Regulatory Compliance Senior Specialist is responsible for ensuring that products meet applicable international, federal, and local regulatory requirements, standards, and certifications. This global role supports compliance across various regions including North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The specialist will work cross-functionally with engineering, product development, quality, and supply chain teams to manage product safety, documentation, testing, and regulatory approvals across the full product lifecycle.
Please note: This role focuses on ingredient-level regulatory compliance for raw materials in cosmetics and personal care. Applicants with backgrounds primarily in pharmacy, pharmaceutical products, or medical devices are not a match for this position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and international regulatory requirements for cosmetic and personal care raw materials.
- Monitor changes in ingredient regulations (e.g., INCI, REACH, Prop 65, EU Cosmetics Regulation).
- Prepare and maintain regulatory documentation including safety data sheets (SDS), ingredient disclosures, impurity profiles, and manufacturing flow charts.
- Respond to regulatory inquiries from customers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Complete product questionnaires and regulatory surveys.
- Support cross-functional teams with ingredient documentation and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with international agents and suppliers to ensure global compliance
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for ingredient-level regulatory guidance.
- Maintain a positive and productive relationship with external and internal customers, co-workers, and others with whom the position may have contact.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to close knowledge/skill gaps and help team members meet performance targets.

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related science.
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of direct experience in regulatory affairs for cosmetic or personal care raw materials or ingredients (not internships only).
- Strong knowledge of U.S. FDA (CFR 21), EU Cosmetics Regulation, REACH, and international compliance standards.
- Experience working in a raw material manufacturer, distributor, or supplier preferred.
- Ability to manage detailed regulatory data accurately and independently.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong ability to understand the needs and concerns of internal and external customers. and respond effectively in a professional manner.
- A high level of confidence, integrity, and critical thinking skills, establishing credibility and decisiveness while balancing varying business considerations/priorities.
- Must be flexible to modify work hours due to company or customer priorities.

The salary range for this role is $72,800 – $95,000 annually. Compensation is commensurate with level of knowledge, education, skills, and experience applicable to the position.
